The Gras Group was a 15-20 artists who created political etching in a joint workshop in Oslo in the early ‘70s, but they were also a lot more.
The Workshop was a gathering place where new ideas and strategies were discussed and executed.
In many ways the activities and discussions in the Gras Group has had significance for the development within the visual arts field: – more impactful unions – better scholarship- and compensation schemes – broader educational options within art – and larger freedom in artistic expression.
